			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>SUFFOLK, VA (October 19, 2009) Suffolk Police are investigating a series of robberies<br />
that have occurred over the past 2 months and are requesting assistance from the<br />
public. Police investigators advise that over the past sixty days, eleven robberies have<br />
occurred in the South Suffolk area (County Street, Carolina Road, Webb Street). In<br />
each of the cases the suspects, usually 2 to 4 black males, fifteen to nineteen, have<br />
been armed with either a handgun or a shotgun.</p>
<p>Most of the robberies have occurred in the evening and involved a single victim being<br />
approached on the street or in parking lots. There have been two robberies of<br />
businesses, with one business being robbed twice. No one has been seriously injured<br />
in any of the robberies.</p>
<p>Anyone that might have information on these crimes is asked to contact Crime Line at<br />
1-888-Lock U Up. Detectives D. Burke and N. Boone are lead investigators.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>SUFFOLK, Va. (February 19, 2009) Suffolk Police are investigating the attempted robbery and assault of a store employee in the parking lot of the<br />
business where she works. Last night at approximately 11:30, a sales associate at Walmart, located in the 1200 blk. of N. Main Street, got off duty and made some purchases. The employee was at her vehicle in the parking lot, loading items into the trunk, when she was approached by two black males.</p>
<p>One of the subjects, described as 17-22, 5’8, wearing a black hoodie, no facial hair, clean cut hair style, attempted to move the shopping cart from next to her. He attempted to physically take her purse. The subject struck the victim several times about her face and head. The subject knocked off her glasses and knocked her to the ground, which resulted in the victim sustaining a sprained ankle. The second suspect, described as 5’9-5’10, also wearing a black hoodie with the same general description, did not assault the victim. Victim was able to get away from the assailant and ran to the business.</p>
<p>Police are working with the business to acquire surveillance video. Detective Carlos Gonzalez is the lead investigator.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>SUFFOLK, Va. (February 10, 2009) – The Suffolk Police Department is investigating<br />
several burglaries that seem to be linked together in the Southern end of our city. These<br />
burglaries are occurring during the daytime hours and the offenders are targeting<br />
jewelry, cash and electronics, such as televisions.</p>
<p>There have been three such instances since January 28th of this year. The burglaries<br />
are occurring in a small concentrated area towards the North Carolina border.<br />
Burglaries have been reported on Corinth Chapel Rd., Manning Rd. and Longstreet Ln.<br />
One such attempted burglary was thwarted when the homeowner’s alarm system<br />
activated.</p>
<p>Citizens should be on the look out for unusual vehicles, or vehicles stopped in unusual<br />
places. Citizens should look out for their neighbors during the daytime and report any<br />
suspicious activity. Citizens observing anything suspicious or knowing anything about<br />
these crimes should call the police or 1-888-LOCKUUP.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Suffolk Police Seeking Suspect in Burglary &amp; Attempted Sexual Assault</p>
<p>SUFFOLK, VA-(January 21, 2009) Suffolk Police are attempting to locate the<br />
suspect in a burglary and attempted sexual assault. Anthony Lamont Harris, age<br />
37, is wanted for one count of breaking and entering, one count of abduction and<br />
one count of attempted rape.</p>
<p>The incident occurred on January 20, 2009, at approximately 11 p.m., in the<br />
1000 blk. of Cogic Square. A male at the residence reports that he was<br />
awakened to someone on top of him. He fought the subject off. The subject<br />
then entered the room of 17 year old and attempted to sexually assault her. The<br />
first victim entered the room and again struggled with the suspect. The suspect<br />
fled.</p>
<p>Investigation led to the identification of Harris. He is described as a black, male,<br />
5’11”, 240 lbs. His last known address is the 500 blk. of Battery Ave.</p>
<p>Police ask that anyone that may know Harris’ whereabouts is asked to contact<br />
Crime Line at 1-888-Lock-U- Up. When calling Crime Line, callers do not have to<br />
give their names or appear in court. If the caller’s information leads to an arrest,<br />
the caller could qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.</p>
