On October 26, 2009 at 7:43 p.m., the Hampton Police Division received an e911 call in
reference to shots being fired. Officers responded to the area and discovered a male
victim suffering from a gunshot wound inside of a vehicle located in the 600 block of
Grimes Road. The victim, a 20-year-old Hampton man, was pronounced deceased at the
scene by medics.
The identity of the victim is not being released at this time pending notification of next of
kin. The investigation is ongoing and further information will be released as it comes
available.
