SUFFOLK, VA (October 19, 2009) Suffolk Police are investigating a series of robberies
that have occurred over the past 2 months and are requesting assistance from the
public. Police investigators advise that over the past sixty days, eleven robberies have
occurred in the South Suffolk area (County Street, Carolina Road, Webb Street). In
each of the cases the suspects, usually 2 to 4 black males, fifteen to nineteen, have
been armed with either a handgun or a shotgun.

Most of the robberies have occurred in the evening and involved a single victim being
approached on the street or in parking lots. There have been two robberies of
businesses, with one business being robbed twice. No one has been seriously injured
in any of the robberies.
