11 Feb

SUFFOLK, Va. (February 10, 2009) – The Suffolk Police Department is investigating
several burglaries that seem to be linked together in the Southern end of our city. These
burglaries are occurring during the daytime hours and the offenders are targeting
jewelry, cash and electronics, such as televisions.

There have been three such instances since January 28th of this year. The burglaries
are occurring in a small concentrated area towards the North Carolina border.
Burglaries have been reported on Corinth Chapel Rd., Manning Rd. and Longstreet Ln.
One such attempted burglary was thwarted when the homeowner’s alarm system
activated.

Citizens should be on the look out for unusual vehicles, or vehicles stopped in unusual
places. Citizens should look out for their neighbors during the daytime and report any
suspicious activity. Citizens observing anything suspicious or knowing anything about
these crimes should call the police or 1-888-LOCKUUP.
