Suffolk Police Seeking Suspect in Burglary & Attempted Sexual Assault

SUFFOLK, VA-(January 21, 2009) Suffolk Police are attempting to locate the
suspect in a burglary and attempted sexual assault. Anthony Lamont Harris, age
37, is wanted for one count of breaking and entering, one count of abduction and
one count of attempted rape.

The incident occurred on January 20, 2009, at approximately 11 p.m., in the
1000 blk. of Cogic Square. A male at the residence reports that he was
awakened to someone on top of him. He fought the subject off. The subject
then entered the room of 17 year old and attempted to sexually assault her. The
first victim entered the room and again struggled with the suspect. The suspect
fled.

Investigation led to the identification of Harris. He is described as a black, male,
5’11”, 240 lbs. His last known address is the 500 blk. of Battery Ave.

Police ask that anyone that may know Harris’ whereabouts is asked to contact
Crime Line at 1-888-Lock-U- Up. When calling Crime Line, callers do not have to
give their names or appear in court. If the caller’s information leads to an arrest,
the caller could qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
